Phu Cuong Bridge

Phu Cuong Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge that spans the Saigon River with two distinctive H-shaped towers rising prominently above the water. The structure connects districts on opposite sides of the river and carries thousands of vehicles every day.

The bridge was built to link growing areas on opposite sides of the river and opened in 2009. It was a major infrastructure project that required international technical cooperation and modern engineering expertise.

The bridge represents a milestone in Vietnamese engineering, incorporating international expertise from Germany, France, and Australia in its development and construction.

The bridge is part of a new ring road system and provides clearance for boats to pass beneath it. You can use it to move quickly between the river sides, though traffic can be heavy during peak hours.

The structure was built under an international operating concession model that brought together local and foreign partners in its development. This arrangement allowed the combination of resources and expertise to create the infrastructure the city needed.
