Schloss Schulzendorf, Renaissance manor house in Schulzendorf, Germany

The castle features a central tower and glass-roofed winter garden within its Renaissance architecture, creating a distinctive silhouette against the Brandenburg landscape.

Built in 1889 by Jewish businessman Moritz Israel, the manor served as a family residence until 1939 when the Nazi regime forcibly seized the property.

The castle grounds include a church constructed by Baron von der Recke, adding religious significance to this nineteenth-century architectural ensemble.

The castle stands in the center of Schulzendorf village, approximately 20 kilometers southeast of Berlin in the Dahme-Spreewald district.

Netflix selected this location to represent the Methuen Home orphanage in Kentucky for their series The Queen's Gambit.
