Regan Øst

Regan Øst is an underground government facility in Gurre that extends across three levels with different functional areas. The lower floors contain technical systems, while the upper floors were designed as residential and working spaces.

The facility was built between 1958 and 1961 and served as a secure refuge for Danish government officials and the royal family during potential threats. It was part of deterrence measures during a time of global political tensions.

The bunker shows how Denmark's government prepared for possible conflict and what emergency measures were planned. The preserved furnishings and equipment give a sense of what daily life would have been like underground during a crisis.

Access is through a concealed entrance that is open to visitors on guided tours. It is best to check visiting hours before arriving, as tours are only offered at specific times.

The facility contains a fully operational broadcast studio and medical clinic, showing it was designed for extended stays. Visitors can still see original transmission equipment that was state-of-the-art for its time.
