Temple protestant de Clermont-Ferrand, Protestant church in Clermont-Ferrand, France
The temple protestant de Clermont-Ferrand is a Protestant church on rue Marmontel in the center of Clermont-Ferrand, France. Designed by Jean Marconnet, the building has a plain exterior and an open interior with an organ used during services.
The temple opened in 1966, built to give the Protestant community in Clermont-Ferrand a dedicated space for worship and gatherings. It is one of the more recent religious buildings in the city.
The temple belongs to the United Protestant Church of France, which serves communities across the Puy-de-Dôme area. During summer months, services move to nearby Royat and Le Mont-Dore to welcome visitors on holiday.
The church sits in the center of Clermont-Ferrand and is easy to reach on foot or by bicycle. Services are held in person only, so those who wish to attend need to plan to be there physically.
Despite its plain look from outside, the building houses an organ that is played during services and special events throughout the year. In July and August, visiting pastors lead special services aimed at holidaymakers passing through the region.
