Newton Castle, Medieval tower house in Blairgowrie, Scotland

Newton Castle features a three-story main block with an eastern stair wing and a western round tower constructed from large uncut stones.

Built around 1550 after George Drummond acquired the lands of Newton of Blair, the castle underwent modifications in the 18th and 19th centuries.

The castle holds ties to Clan Macpherson since 1787, when Colonel Alan Macpherson, the 26th Hereditary Chief, purchased the property with Catharine Richardson Hill.

Located in Perth and Kinross, the Category A listed building includes a subterranean vault and maintains original interior elements from the early 1700s.

The castle entrance doorway incorporates a defensive horizontal loop and stands in the southern section of the eastern wing.
