St James’s House, Grade II listed office building in Edgbaston, Birmingham, England
St James's House features a concrete structure with glazed curtain walls and brick elements, creating a strong geometric presence in Frederick Road.
The Engineering and Allied Employer's Federation commissioned architect John Madin to design this building, which was completed in 1957.
The building represents a significant example of post-war commercial architecture, receiving Grade II listing status from Historic England in January 2015.
The structure underwent a £7 million redevelopment project, transforming the interior into modern office spaces while maintaining its architectural character.
The building's design incorporated specific elements to foster improved relations between employers and employees, reflecting mid-century workplace philosophies.
