Heap's Rice Mill, Grade II-listed industrial building in Baltic Triangle, Liverpool, England
The red brick structure rises seven stories high, featuring sandstone details, slate roofs, and a combination of timber and cast iron framework throughout the building.
Founded by Joseph Heap in 1778, the mill operated until 1988 and produced rice for various products, including the rice used in Kellogg's Rice Krispies cereal.
The building represents Liverpool's industrial heritage and maritime trade connections, particularly through its Diamond H Line vessels that connected Liverpool with Australia and Asia.
The ongoing redevelopment project will create 544 residential units, including studios, Manhattan-style apartments, and two-bedroom spaces designed for urban professionals.
The renovation incorporates a swimming pool, rooftop terraces, and a museum while maintaining the original industrial architecture of this centuries-old rice processing facility.
