Bristol Homeopathic Hospital, healthcare organization in Bristol, United Kingdom
Bristol Homeopathic Hospital is a former medical facility in Bristol that specialized in homeopathic treatments. The building, known as Hampton House, was designed by architect George Oatley and stands as a Grade II listed structure today.
The hospital was founded in 1832 as a dispensary and officially became a full hospital in 1852. Walter Melville Wills donated the Cotham Hill property with gardens in 1925, allowing the facility to expand into what became known as Hampton House.
The name reflects the homeopathic treatment method that was practiced here for many decades. The building represents an approach to medicine that focused on natural remedies and alternative care.
The building is located in Bristol and easily recognizable by its Grade II architectural features. Today it serves as part of the University of Bristol campus for student health services, so visitors should note it is no longer a public medical clinic.
The building was named after Bruce Melville Wills, the donor's son who died in the First World War. The gardens were designed by the same landscape designers who created the donor's private gardens.
