Cleatham Hall, Grade II listed building in Manton, England
The Classical Revival style hall features coursed limestone rubble, brick sections, and a symmetrical facade with five bays arranged in a 2:1:2 pattern.
Constructed in 1855 by J M Hooker of Tunbridge Wells, the estate belonged to William Darwin around 1600 before changing ownership to the Maw family in 1801.
The interior maintains its original features, including a geometrical staircase with stone steps, cast-iron balusters, wall niches, and decorated plaster cornices from 1889.
The property stands within 13 acres of grounds, incorporating a walled garden to the north and outbuildings such as an 1802 coach house.
Wing Commander Roger Maw, who resided at Cleatham Hall, participated in the 1943 escape from German prisoner camp Stalag Luft III.
