House of Dreams Museum, Artist residence museum in East Dulwich, England
The House of Dreams Museum displays thousands of found objects, dolls, and mosaics arranged throughout the ground floor of a Victorian house.
In 1998, textile designer Stephen Wright began transforming his residence into an art environment after watching a BBC documentary about outsider art.
Memory boards throughout the museum document personal experiences, social observations, and political events, forming a visual diary of British life.
The museum opens to visitors several days each month, with advance reservations required through the official website for guided tours.
The National Trust will preserve this collection of international objects, broken dolls, and personal artifacts after the current artist-owner ends residency.
