The symmetrical main frontage of the Gothic-style town hall features five bays along Albert Road and includes a central four-stage clock tower.
The municipal building, designed by Alfred Waterhouse, opened in January 1894 under the leadership of council chairman Samuel Catlow.
The renovated building includes the Waterhouse Bar for receptions and provides spaces for marriages and civil partnerships in the council chamber.
The Grade II listed building continues to function as the meeting place for Colne Town Council, offering various municipal services to residents.
A massive paving stone from Clough Fold Quarry, measuring 10 feet by 9 feet and weighing 2 tonnes, lies at the entrance.
