Lar Dam, Earth-fill embankment dam in Bala Larijan Rural District, Iran
Lar Dam is an earth-fill embankment dam located in Bala Larijan Rural District, stretching 1150 meters in length across a mountain valley. The structure rises 107 meters above its base at an elevation of 2510 meters in Mazandaran province.
Construction of Lar Dam started in 1974 and finished in 1982 as part of Iran's national water management strategy. The project was developed to harness water resources in the mountainous region for irrigation and regional supply.
