Chelsea Town Hall, Municipal building on King's Road in Chelsea, London
The town hall presents a neoclassical façade with fifteen bays, featuring full-height Ionic columns that support pediments and include a central clock with bellcote.
Built in 1887, architect John McKean Brydon designed the original vestry hall section, followed by Leonard Stokes's extension completed in 1907 for £35,000.
The Chelsea Art Society established a tradition of annual exhibitions in the Stokes extension starting from 1994, displaying works from local artists.
Located near Sloane Square and South Kensington Underground stations, the building serves as the main register office for civil ceremonies in the borough.
Singer Kathleen Ferrier performed in the hall on April 15, 1947, while actress Judy Garland married Mickey Deans at this location in March 1969.
