The Pheasantry, Georgian building in Chelsea, London

The Pheasantry stands at 152 King's Road with ornate Louis XV architectural features, three stories, and a decorated stone entrance gateway.

The building received its name from Samuel Baker's business in the 1760s, which specialized in developing new varieties of oriental pheasants.

The first floor housed the Russian Dancing Academy in 1916, where ballet instructor Serafima Astafieva trained future prima ballerinas Alicia Markova and Margot Fonteyn.

The ground floor contains a Pizza Express restaurant while the upper level operates as a performance venue for music and cabaret shows.

Eleanor Thornton, who lived at The Pheasantry and modeled for the Rolls-Royce Spirit of Ecstasy mascot, spent significant time at this residence.
