Corfe Barrows Nature Park

Corfe Barrows Nature Park is a protected nature reserve in Dorset spanning about 90 hectares with forests, open heaths, grasslands, and grazing areas. A network of footpaths and marked trails connects these different habitats throughout the site.

The park contains Bronze Age burial mounds that reveal important information about prehistoric settlement and ancient funeral practices in this region. These archaeological features show how humans lived and honored their dead thousands of years ago.

The park is shaped by ongoing conservation work that keeps its different zones thriving for both wildlife and visitors who explore them throughout the seasons.

The site can be reached by car through small parking areas on Merley Park Road or on foot, by bicycle, or by bus via nearby routes. Information boards at the entrance points guide visitors along the various trails available.

The reserve is home to rare British bird species like the Dartford warbler, along with sand lizards and several bat species that live in different parts of the park. Each habitat type supports its own set of animals adapted to those specific conditions.
