Modyń

Modyń is a mountain summit in Beskid Wyspowy that rises to 1029 meters and features two distinct peaks divided by a shallow saddle. The mountain extends across five village territories and is characterized by three main ridges.

The mountain once stood with a wooden triangulation tower that served as a navigation landmark until severe weather caused its collapse during the 1980s. This structure marked the peak's historical role in surveying and mountain orientation.

Local communities organize environmental workshops and guided tours, connecting visitors with the natural heritage of the Beskid Wyspowy region.

A modern observation tower rising 27 meters was completed in 2021 and offers visitors elevated vantage points across surrounding mountain scenery. The tower provides easy access to extended views without additional climbing effort.

The western flank displays a remarkable profile that resembles a whale's back when viewed from certain angles during approach. This distinctive silhouette is often noticed by hikers observing the mountain from the valley below.
