Hotel Concord, hotel building in Concord, North Carolina
Hotel Concord is a six-story Beaux-Arts building completed in 1926 that covers about 46,500 square feet (4,318 square meters). Its limestone facade features classical arches and decorative elements, making it the largest historic property in Cabarrus County.
The building was designed by architect William Lee Stoddart in 1926 and originally housed the Concord National Bank, which later became First Charter Bank. Beginning in 2016, it underwent conversion and now contains residential apartments and retail space.
The hotel anchors the Union Street North-Cabarrus Avenue Historic District, where it continues to shape community life today. The surrounding area remains active with shops, cafes, and regular events that keep the building and its history woven into everyday life.
The building sits downtown at 14 Union Street North and is easily reached on foot from the surrounding historic district. Today it houses apartments, a food market, and event spaces that host regular community activities throughout the year.
Following its conversion starting in 2016, the building now contains 40 apartments branded as The View at Hotel Concord, which became available for lease in June 2018. The ground floor was reimagined as Union Street Market, offering food and shopping options since July 2018.
