Landmark Building, Office skyscraper in downtown Greenville, United States.
Landmark Building is a modern office tower in downtown Greenville featuring 25 floors constructed with steel frame, white Georgia marble, and precast concrete panels. The structure contains spacious office space throughout and connects to a six-story parking garage at ground level.
Construction began in 1964 after receiving special legislative approval, as state building laws at that time restricted heights to 17 stories. This approval marked a major exception to the existing regulations.
The building shifted local design tastes toward modernism, bringing contemporary architectural thinking to the downtown landscape where residents and visitors can see a marked change from earlier styles.
The tower sits in a central location that is easy to reach, with parking readily available in the connected garage beneath the structure. The interior layout allows visitors to navigate comfortably through the different levels.
The tower overlooks Springwood Cemetery, the final resting place of the person whose vision initiated the project, who died just before completion. This connection ties the building to a significant personal chapter in the area's development.
