Chiesa di Sant'Alberto

The chiesa di Sant'Alberto is a Baroque church in Trapani featuring a Greek cross floor plan with striking marble details. Its dark marble entrance portal is crowned by a white marble bust of Saint Albert.

Construction began in 1681 and took approximately 20 years to complete, finishing in 1700. This building marks an important period of religious development for Trapani.

This church served the local community as a gathering place for worship and charitable aid to those in need. The space still reflects how it functioned as a center where people came together for spiritual and social support.

The building is located on Via Giuseppe Garibaldi in central Trapani and is easily accessible on foot. Note that it is currently closed to regular worship following a recent restoration.

The portal blends 17th-century craftsmanship with late Renaissance design elements, creating an intersection of different artistic periods. This mixture is particularly visible in the marble work and sculptural details.
