Galerie Brockstedt, Art gallery in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, Germany

Galerie Brockstedt is an art space in Berlin that shows classical works from the modern period alongside contemporary paintings and sculptures. The exhibition rooms are located on Mommsenstrasse and present these different types of art next to each other for visitors to experience both together.

Hans Brockstedt started this gallery in 1957 in the city of Hanover, then opened a second location in Hamburg and later added the Berlin branch in 1992. The move to Berlin marked an expansion of the business into the country's capital and largest art market.

The gallery shows works by artists like Otto Dix and Emil Nolde, whose paintings reflect how German artists saw their world during the 1920s and 1930s. Walking through the rooms, you notice how these pieces tell stories about people, daily life, and society of that era.

The space is open Tuesday through Friday starting at noon and staying open until early evening, with shorter hours on Saturday mornings. Planning your visit on a weekday gives you more time to spend looking at the works on display.

The gallery focuses specifically on representational art from the Classical Modern period rather than abstract works. This focused approach means visitors interested in figurative art from that era have found a dedicated place to study this particular style and its development.
