Cosmocité Science Center

The Cosmocité Science Center is a museum in Le Pont-de-Claix featuring spaces dedicated to scientific discovery. The facility includes a planetarium for astronomy, an immersive room for interactive experiences, and exhibition areas focused on earth and space exploration.

The center sits on the former site of Villancourt Mills, which supplied flour to bakeries across the Grenoble region from the late 1800s until the 1970s. This industrial location was later reborn as a space for scientific learning.

The name Cosmocité came from discussions with local residents, connecting universal science ideas with community involvement in discovery. Visitors experience a place where science is seen as something that belongs to everyone in the neighborhood.

The center designs its programs for many different ages, welcoming children as young as 3 years old through to adults with tailored activities. Plan your visit to allow time for exploring the different areas at a comfortable pace.

The building itself serves as a lesson in green design, featuring a living roof and solar panels that power much of its heating system. What visitors learn inside about sustainability is demonstrated in the structure around them.
