Musée de la viscose

The museum occupies the former viscose factory site, displaying machinery, photographs, and videos that document the artificial silk manufacturing process.

The last viscose thread emerged from the Grenoble factory machines on March 2, 1989, marking the end of a 60-year industrial period.

The museum exhibits document the lives of workers from fifty different nationalities who formed the factory community between 1927 and 1989.

Located at 27 rue du Tremblay in Échirolles, the museum offers guided tours for groups of five or more people upon reservation.

The collection includes 3,000 preserved items related to viscose production, from raw wood pulp processing equipment to finished textile samples.
