Maison de la Culture de Grenoble, Cultural center and concert hall in Grenoble, France

The Maison de la Culture de Grenoble is a cultural and performance venue with four different performance spaces, including two large auditoriums with about one thousand seats each. The building combines various architectural styles and offers theatrical and musical performances all in one location.

The building was designed by André Wogenscky and opened in 1968 for the Winter Olympics, with Culture Minister André Malraux conducting the official inauguration. From the start, the structure was planned as a cultural center for the city.

The house hosts several respected artistic institutions today, including a national dance center and drama center. These resident companies shape the daily life of the place through their rehearsals and performances.

The venue is easily reached by public transport and sits in a central area of the city. Visitors should check ahead for specific event times, as these vary depending on what is scheduled each week.

The building underwent a major overhaul in the 2000s that completely redesigned its façade and interior spaces. This renovation brought the place back to life and gave it its current name MC2.
