Hay Hall, Grade II listed house in Hay Mills, Birmingham, England.
Hay Hall is a two-story timber-framed house with stone-mullioned windows and a central hall layout, located in Hay Mills. The structure features wings extending from both sides and now serves partly as office space.
The De La Haye family built the original moated hall around 1275, which later passed to the Este family through marriage. This family connection in 1423 marked a turning point in the building's ownership.
The building contains preserved wall paintings and stained glass fragments that show different artistic styles from various periods. These decorative elements reveal the skill of craftspeople who worked on the house over many centuries.
The building sits about 5 miles southeast of Birmingham city center and has ample parking available on the grounds. Visitors should note that it partly serves as office space, so access may be limited.
The northeastern wing displays distinctive patterned brickwork with several bays that feature open roof structures. These architectural details are visible beneath an added attic level and showcase traditional building techniques.
