Five Sisters Zoo

Five Sisters Zoo is a wildlife sanctuary in West Calder, Scotland, housing over 180 animal species across multiple habitats. The collection includes lions, bears, wolves, lemurs, and reptiles arranged in specialized enclosures.

Established in 2005, the facility grew from a small family operation into a recognized conservation center. Over time it became a sanctuary for numerous animals rescued from inadequate living situations.

Daily keeper talks and feeding sessions allow visitors to learn about animal welfare and conservation efforts directly from staff members. These interactions help people connect more deeply with wildlife and understand the work needed to protect it.

The zoo opens daily and features parking, dining options, and accessible pathways throughout the grounds. Visitors can view a wide range of animals while walking through clearly marked areas.

Two brown bears rescued from poor living conditions now reside here and have found safety and proper care. Their arrival highlights the sanctuary's role in giving second chances to animals in need.
