Tranmer House, Country house at Sutton Hoo, England
The Tudor Revival style building sits atop a hill overlooking the River Deben and the town of Woodbridge in Suffolk county.
The house gained recognition when its owner Edith Pretty initiated the excavation of nearby burial mounds, leading to major Anglo-Saxon discoveries in 1939.
The National Trust maintains the house as a museum, presenting rooms that reflect the 1930s period when Edith Pretty made her archaeological decisions.
Visitors can explore the house's restored interior, examine archaeological exhibits, and access the connected Sutton Hoo Visitor Centre throughout the year.
The house's rose garden conceals a second Anglo-Saxon cemetery, discovered during excavations conducted in the year 2000.
