St Andrews Aquarium

St Andrews Aquarium is a facility on the north-facing cliffs of St Andrews Bay housing both marine and land animals in separate tanks. British sharks, piranhas, penguins, and meerkats are displayed in climate-controlled environments suited to each species.

The building dates back to the Victorian era as a small marine exhibition space. Over time it evolved into an educational center with a wider range of both water and land animal displays.

Daily feeding times let visitors watch how the animals behave and interact with each other in their tanks. These moments offer a chance to see familiar species in ways you might not expect.

Parking is close by at Bruce Embankment, making access straightforward for those arriving by car. Plan time to walk through the displays at a relaxed pace and catch the daily demonstrations.

Four young meerkats joined the existing group in 2023, expanding the collection beyond purely marine animals. This addition shows how the facility continues to develop and offer new experiences.
