Mundesley Maritime Museum, Maritime museum in Mundesley, England.

Mundesley Maritime Museum occupies a former coastguard lookout tower on Beach Road and displays maritime objects from the region's seafaring past. The collection includes historical photographs, navigational instruments, and equipment used in local fishing and coastal trades.

The building began in 1928 as a working coastguard station, watching over the waters for many decades. It became a museum in 1995 to preserve the maritime heritage that defines this coastal region.

The museum reflects how deeply the sea shaped community life in Norfolk, with objects and stories showing how local people depended on fishing and trade. Exhibits reveal the daily practices that connected this place to the wider maritime world.

The museum is open during the summer months from June through September with afternoon and morning sessions. Plan to visit on a weekday if possible, as the space is compact and can get crowded during peak times.

The museum houses an unusual collection of prehistoric animal fossils discovered in the area, including remains from ancient mammoths and other ice-age creatures. These finds reveal that the coastline once experienced a dramatically different climate than it does today.
