Mubarak Mosque

The Mubarak Mosque displays modern design with three domes and stands at the center of the Islamabad complex. The prayer hall holds 500 worshippers and includes separate sections for men and women along with spaces for religious education.

This mosque opened on June 29, 2019, replacing former wooden structures on land that once belonged to Waverley Abbey during medieval times. The area was known as Holy Ground before being renamed Islamabad in 1984.

This place serves as a meeting point for people of different faiths, hosting regular shared meals and fundraising activities with nearby churches.

Visitors should know that there are pauses during prayer times and certain areas may be reserved for worshippers only. It helps to check beforehand which spaces are open to visitors.

The land was originally called Holy Ground because of its connection to a medieval abbey that existed long before the current community. This historical link makes the location feel special to the broader region.
