SkyView Rotterdam is a ferris wheel with 36 climate-controlled cabins at Scheveningen Beach. Each ride lasts about 15 minutes and offers views across the North Sea, the surrounding coastline, and the city beyond.
The wheel first opened in 2018 at a different location in Rotterdam before being moved to Scheveningen Beach in 2019. The relocation made it a permanent fixture on one of the city's most popular beaches.
The wheel adds to the Dutch beach culture and gives visitors a fresh way to experience the coast and sea from above. Its lit cabins become a landmark that shapes the look of the beach promenade both day and night.
The ride is easy to access and operates in most weather conditions since the cabins are enclosed. It helps to arrive early to avoid queues, especially on weekends and during peak season.
One cabin has a glass floor, meaning riders can look straight down while suspended in the air. Another cabin functions as a dining space for special events with views of the sea.
