Roche du Kiosque

Roche du Kiosque is a mountain summit in the Vosges rising to 693 meters (2,274 feet) above sea level. From the top, you can see across the valley to Saint-Dié-des-Vosges and the neighboring peaks of the range.

The rock formation came into being through geological movements that shaped the Vosges during successive ice ages. This type of summit tells the story of mountain-building forces that have worked on this landscape over millions of years.

The marked trails leading to the summit reflect the traditional path marking system established by the Club Vosgien hiking organization.

To reach the summit, you can hike from Saint-Dié-des-Vosges via marked forest paths covering about 4.6 kilometers. The trail climbs steadily with clear markers, making it straightforward to follow without special equipment.

A covered shelter sits at the summit, providing a spot to rest and observe the landscape. Visitors often miss this simple structure, yet it marks an important waypoint for hikers in the region.
