Antrebloc, Climbing gym in Villejuif, France
Antrebloc is an indoor climbing gym in Villejuif, a suburb just south of Paris, with walls set at different angles and routes suited to all levels. The space includes areas for bouldering, top rope, and lead climbing, all laid out in a functional hall with clear lighting.
The gym opened around 2017, making it one of the newer climbing venues in the greater Paris area. It was set up at a time when indoor climbing was growing fast across the Ile-de-France region.
Antrebloc draws many regulars who also climb outdoors in the Fontainebleau forest nearby. Training indoors here is often seen as a way to prepare for sessions on natural sandstone rock.
The gym is open every day, with longer hours on weekends, and easy to reach by bus with several stops nearby. Rental gear such as shoes and harnesses is available on site for those who do not bring their own equipment.
Antrebloc has an in-house shop called Antreshop where visitors can try Nograd brand gear in real climbing conditions before buying. Testing equipment directly on the wall before any purchase is not something you find at every gym.
