Miruša Waterfalls

The Miruša River creates a series of 13 connected lakes and waterfalls within a 10-kilometer-long canyon bordered by white limestone cliffs. The brown-tinted waters stand in sharp contrast to the pale rock faces.

The regional park was established in 1982 and received protected nature reserve status in 1975. The site has been recognized as a significant conservation area for decades.

The Great Church and Small Church caves within the canyon once sheltered Orthodox monks during Ottoman rule.

Multiple swimming areas, hiking trails, and viewing points are accessible throughout the site and connected by national roads to nearby towns. Walking is the best way to explore the different sections of the canyon properly.

The tallest waterfall in the sequence drops 22 meters between the sixth and seventh lakes and is a popular diving spot. This location regularly draws locals and visitors who want to test their nerve.
