Aquashow Audierne

Aquashow Audierne is an aquarium and bird show facility located along the Breton coast near the Goyen River. The complex features over 160 marine species housed in around 50 tanks, including sharks, crustaceans, conger eels, cuttlefish, and octopuses, alongside a separate area dedicated to daily bird demonstrations.

This facility was established along the Goyen River near Pointe du Raz and grew to become a primary center for marine observation in Brittany. The site evolved from its origins to serve as a key institution for understanding local sea life in the region.

The center hosts daily shows where visitors can watch Great Cormorants fishing and birds of prey flying in open spaces. These demonstrations reveal how trainers work with these animals as part of the local Breton tradition of using water birds.

Visitors should plan enough time to explore the aquarium tanks and watch the daily bird shows. It is best to visit during daylight hours when the demonstrations take place and natural light illuminates the displays well.

The center features a touch pool where visitors can interact directly with selected marine animals under supervision from marine biologists. This hands-on experience allows people to feel the texture and behavior of these creatures in a way that regular aquarium viewing does not permit.
