The name Spitzkopf reflects the German heritage of Blumenau, combining the Portuguese word 'Morro' with the German term for pointed peak.
Visitors can access the viewpoint through marked hiking trails that range from 2 to 4 kilometers in length, with parking available at the base.
The summit serves as a launch point for paragliders who take advantage of the thermal winds that form around the hill throughout the year.
