Solmar Resorts
Solmar Resorts is a beach resort on the Pacific coast of Los Cabos, in the Mexican state of Baja California Sur, set directly facing the open ocean. The property includes several low-rise buildings with studios and suites, outdoor pools, and a long stretch of sand accessible from the grounds.
The resort opened during the early years of tourism in Los Cabos, when the area was still a quiet destination known mainly to fishermen and sport anglers. Over the decades, the surroundings grew into one of Mexico's most visited coastal areas, while the property kept its position close to the original shoreline.
The name Solmar combines the Spanish words for sun and sea, which reflects the character of this stretch of the Baja California coast. Visitors quickly notice how the rhythm of the place follows the tides, the light, and the fishing boats that pass close to shore each morning.
The Pacific beach in front of the resort often has strong currents, so most guests use the outdoor pools for swimming rather than the open water. The center of Cabo San Lucas is within walking distance, making it easy to reach the marina, restaurants, and local shops without needing a car.
Even though the beach in front of the resort is too rough for swimming, it offers a direct view of El Arco, the rock arch at the tip of the Baja California peninsula, without needing to take a boat. This position on the Pacific side means guests also see the point where the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez meet, which is visible from the shore on clear days.
