Bag of Beans, Coffee house and restaurant in Tagaytay, Philippines
Bag of Beans is a restaurant and coffee house in Tagaytay, set inside a converted summer house along Aguinaldo Highway. Several dining areas open toward views of Taal Lake and the volcano, and a bakery on the premises bakes fresh bread every day.
The place began in a private home owned by attorneys Conrado and Felicitas Diaz, who gradually turned it into a restaurant. Over time, that first location grew into a small network of spots spread across Tagaytay.
The menu brings together Filipino dishes like Bulalo and dishes like Shepherd's Pie, so you can move between very different food traditions in a single meal. Locals and visitors both order freely from either side of the menu, making the table feel relaxed and open.
There are several locations in Tagaytay, so it helps to check which one is closest to where you are staying before you go. No single spot requires reservations by rule, but arriving early on weekends avoids long waits.
The bakery's raisin bread is a house product that many visitors buy to take away before they leave. Guests waiting for a table receive a complimentary drink, which is not common practice among similar restaurants in the area.
