Fuddruckers, American restaurant in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Fuddruckers is an American burger restaurant in Riyadh where guests put together their own burger from a selection of fresh ingredients. The meat is ground on site every day, and the buns are baked throughout the day in an in-house bakery.
The chain was founded in Texas in 1979 and opened its first Middle Eastern location in Jeddah in 1994. It then expanded to other cities in the Gulf region over the following years, including Riyadh.
The restaurant serves halal-certified meat and offers separate seating areas for families, which is a common feature in Saudi dining. Many local families visit regularly and enjoy the process of building their own burger at the toppings bar.
After ordering and choosing a burger size at the counter, guests head to the toppings bar to add vegetables and sauces on their own. Early afternoon or early evening tends to be quieter than peak meal times.
Bread and buns are baked several times a day, so the restaurant carries a constant smell of fresh bakery that fills the whole space. Regular visitors often say they notice the scent before they even walk through the door.
