Rus
Rus is a hotel in central Kyiv, set on a hill between the main business district and the tourism area around Khreshchatyk. The building has several floors of rooms in a plain style and a conference wing with spaces for large gatherings.
The building was constructed during the Soviet period as part of a wave of large state-run accommodation built to host delegations and official visitors in Kyiv. After the Soviet Union dissolved, it transitioned into a privately operated hotel.
The hotel's name refers to the medieval Rus state, whose capital was Kyiv, giving the place a connection to the city's origins. The lobby and common areas reflect a sober Soviet-era style that is still easy to spot today.
The nearest metro station, Palats Sportu on the green line, is a short walk away, making it easy to move around the city without a car. The hotel has on-site parking and accepts pets if arranged in advance.
Rus holds a Green Key Certificate, an international award given to accommodations that actively reduce their water and energy use. This kind of recognition is still rare among hotels in Ukraine, making it stand out in its category.
