Leslie and Mabel Cheek established this grand estate in 1929, transforming their coffee business fortune into a significant cultural institution that opened to the public in 1960.
The permanent collection includes works by William Edmondson, Andy Warhol, and Jamie Wyeth, representing significant movements in American art through paintings, sculptures, and decorative pieces.
Visitors can access free 30-minute audio tours at Visitor Services to learn about the outdoor sculpture collection and gardens while exploring at their own pace.
The Martin Shallenberger Artist-in-Residence program enables artists to create site-specific installations while living on the estate grounds throughout their creative process.
