Cheers Beacon Hill, American restaurant and pub in Beacon Hill, Boston, United States.
Cheers is an American restaurant and pub located in Beacon Hill housed in a brick building with classical architecture opposite Boston Public Garden. The venue serves traditional American dishes and beverages across multiple dining spaces.
The building opened in 1969 as Bull & Finch Pub and operated under that name for decades before being renamed Cheers in 2002. The name change followed the massive popularity of the television series of the same name, which had made the venue world-famous.
This establishment gained worldwide recognition as the exterior filming location for the NBC television series Cheers, which aired from 1982 to 1993 and brought global attention to the venue. Visitors immediately recognize the distinctive facade from the show.
The restaurant opens daily from 11:00 AM and offers mid-range pricing with the option to book reservations for private events. The location directly across from Boston Public Garden makes it easy to find and access from the nearby downtown area.
A section of the street across from the building was officially named Eddie Doyle Square in honor of a bartender who worked at the location for 35 years. This tribute acknowledges the personal history of the place beyond its television fame.
