Muzeum Kultury Ludowej Pomorza w Swołowie
The Muzeum Kultury Ludowej Pomorza w Swołowie is an open-air museum in a small village displaying restored farm buildings from the 19th century that show traditional rural life in the Pomeranian region. Since 2012, visitors can explore 13 carefully renewed structures with exhibits about farming, crafts, and everyday customs, along with live animals and multimedia displays.
Swołowo originated in medieval times and preserved its traditional village layout with an oval square at the center, where a church was built around 1400. The settlement served as an important community hub and later became a center of agricultural traditions, which the museum now documents and presents to visitors.
The museum is set in Swołowo, a village known for its distinctive wooden lattice work on house facades. This regional building style, seen from Łeba to Darłowo, gives the settlement its recognizable character and connects it to the broader Pomeranian heritage.
The museum is open from early morning to late afternoon, with extended hours during summer months. Wear comfortable shoes as you will walk through outdoor grounds to view buildings and participate in hands-on activities.
The museum hosts seasonal festivals and culinary events throughout the year, such as the Goose Feast in November celebrating traditional Pomeranian goose dishes.
