The Park Vista - a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel - Gatlinburg
The Park Vista, a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, is a tall cylindrical tower set on a hillside at the edge of downtown Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Every room has its own balcony facing either the town below or the mountain ridges of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
The hotel was built in the 1970s and quickly became one of the most recognizable buildings in Gatlinburg due to its round shape and hillside position. Over the decades it went through several renovations before joining the Hilton portfolio.
The hotel's name points directly to its position overlooking the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Guests tend to spend time on their balconies watching the mountain ridges change color through the day and across the seasons.
The hotel sits just above Gatlinburg's main strip and can be reached on foot from the center of town in a few minutes. Parking is available on site, and the building has elevator access to all floors.
The cylindrical shape of the building means that no two rooms face exactly the same direction, giving each floor a slightly different view of the surrounding ridges and valleys. This round form is unusual for a mountain hotel and makes the tower easy to spot from several points in town.
