Rifugio Padon is a mountain hut at 2407 meters (7900 feet) in Rocca Pietore, facing the Marmolada glacier in the Dolomites. Run by the De Vallier family, it offers shelter and simple meals to hikers and skiers crossing this part of the mountains.
The hut has long served as a rest stop for mountaineers and travelers crossing the Dolomites. Over time, it became a regular meeting point for those exploring the Marmolada area in all seasons.
Near the hut, the Via Ferrata delle Trincee is a protected climbing route with cables and ladders that passes through remains from World War I. The kitchen follows the tradition of the Val Pettorina valley, which draws on both Venetian and Ladin influences.
The hut can be reached on foot from Passo Fedaia in about an hour, or by a four-seat chairlift from Capanna Bill during the warmer months. In winter, it is accessible by ski through the Arabba-Marmolada ski area, which is part of the Dolomiti Superski circuit.
Rifugio Padon is listed as a proposal spot, and couples regularly choose this high-altitude setting to mark a special moment. The view of the Marmolada glacier from the terrace makes this one of the more memorable locations in the Dolomites for that purpose.
