El Santuario Resort
El Santuario Resort is a hotel and event venue situated on a mountain in Valle de Bravo, surrounded by forests, a lake, and open landscape. The property spans approximately 500 acres and features luxury rooms with private pools, a large spa offering over 60 treatments, and multiple restaurants with lake views.
The resort was built on a quartz mountain that has existed for over 100 million years. It was founded by Michel Domit, who envisioned a place where guests could find healing, harmony, and inner peace.
The name refers to a sanctuary - a protected space where visitors find refuge in nature and within themselves. The entire design weaves together symbols from various cultural and spiritual traditions to help guests reconnect with their inner balance.
The resort sits at an elevation of approximately 1,500 meters (4,900 feet), so prepare for cooler temperatures, especially in the evening. The area has a mild climate with less rainfall than surrounding regions, but it is wise to bring weather-resistant clothing.
One fascinating treatment experience is Yenecamu, which takes place on a boat in the middle of the lake and lasts about three hours. The treatment combines cactus exfoliation, wraps with tequila and mezcal, and Swedish massage for a one-of-a-kind pampering experience on the water.
