Botin Centre, Arts centre near Pereda Gardens, Santander, Spain
The Botin Centre features two elevated gallery volumes supported by columns, with 280,000 ceramic tiles reflecting light from Santander Bay.
The Botin Foundation initiated construction in 2012, selecting Pritzker Prize architect Renzo Piano to design his first Spanish project, completed in 2017.
The centre maintains permanent and temporary art exhibitions across multiple spaces, while offering educational programs focused on contemporary artistic expression.
Visitors access the centre through an underground passage connecting Pereda Gardens to the waterfront, with exhibitions open daily from 10 AM to 8 PM.
The structure extends over the water on pillars, incorporating an elevated walkway that provides direct views across Santander Bay and the Cantabrian Sea.
