Social Place is a restaurant in Jintai Village, Taiwan, located in Forum Shopping Mall and serves dim sum and Cantonese specialties. The space combines modern design with traditional touches, offering both classic dishes like roasted quail and beef brisket as well as creative dim sum options such as beautifully shaped buns and colorful dumplings.
Social Place opened in 2019 as part of a restaurant chain that started in Hong Kong. The Taipei location was the first outlet to open outside of Hong Kong, bringing the Cantonese dim sum concept to a new market.
Social Place blends traditional Cantonese cuisine with modern design, visible in the mosaic tiles and walls decorated with Mahjong game pieces throughout the space. Visitors experience a mix of classic flavors and playful touches, where unexpected details like small plastic insects on plates add to the quirky character of the place.
The restaurant is located on the first floor of Forum Shopping Mall and operates from late morning to early afternoon and again in the evening. Staff provide menus in English, which makes ordering easier for travelers who cannot read Chinese characters.
