Hot Sulphur Springs Resort & Spa
Hot Sulphur Springs Resort & Spa is a mountain hotel in Colorado featuring natural mineral pools filled from underground springs. The water is heated by the earth and flows unfiltered into various pools with temperatures ranging from just under 100 degrees Fahrenheit to over 110 degrees Fahrenheit, and the resort also offers a cooler indoor pool for lap swimming.
The resort was founded in 1943 and has since become a known destination for soaking in mineral waters. The natural water has flowed unchanged from the mountain springs since at least 1946 and is used without chemicals or modern filtering systems.
The name comes from the natural hot springs that have drawn people for generations. Visitors use the pools today much as people have always done - to soak in quiet mountain surroundings and experience the soothing effect of naturally warm mineral water.
The resort is accessible by car via mountain roads, quickest via I-70 heading west. Visitors can arrive for day visits and soak from early morning until late evening, while overnight guests have unlimited pool access throughout their stay.
The water is gravity-fed directly from mountain springs without using pumps or modern filtering systems. This rare method has kept the natural mineral composition completely unchanged for decades.
