Römer und Bajuwaren Museum Kipfenberg

The Römer und Bajuwaren Museum occupies the former stables of Burg Kipfenberg castle, presenting exhibits about Roman and early Bavarian settlements along the Limes.

The museum displays a significant Germanic warrior grave from the 5th century AD with artifacts that document the transition between Roman rule and Bavarian settlement.

The museum integrates archaeological findings, reconstructions, and interactive displays to present the daily life of Romans and early Bavarians in the Altmühltal region.

The museum opens daily from June to August between 10:00 and 18:00, with reduced hours during other months and special arrangements for group visits.

Since 2006, the museum houses the regional Infopoint Limes, featuring a reconstructed watchtower room where visitors can try on Roman military equipment.
