Oybin Castle and Monastery Ruins sit atop a 514-meter sandstone peak in the Zittau Mountains with Gothic architecture and fortified stonework visible throughout. A museum housed in the former residential tower exhibits artifacts and information about the site's medieval past.

Emperor Charles IV established both an imperial residence and a monastery for Celestine monks between 1366 and 1384. The site later declined and was gradually abandoned, though it became an important landmark in the region's medieval past.
